Mistakes to Avoid When Taking a Shower

April 17, 2019 by Tristan Leave a Comment

blonde hair woman in blue top on white liquid

You might already have your usual routine when taking a shower. Some people prefer washing their hair first before their entire body. Everyone prefers different things depending on their preferences and lifestyle. Some others take a few minutes to bathe while it takes up to an hour for some to get the job done. You can take a shower in any way you want. Make sure though that you do not make these mistakes.

Scrubbing the scalp with fingernails

You need to be careful when using your nails to scrub the scalp as you use the shampoo. It could cause flaking and lead to dandruff. Avoid rubbing the strands in between your hands as it could lead to split ends. Be gentle when lathering the shampoo on your hair.

Using soap as a moisturiser

Although some new soaps also function as a moisturiser, most of the old ones do not. They dry out the skin. Instead of using soap, you can use a moisturiser. Find stearic acid on the list of ingredients to ensure that it will provide the benefits you deserve.

Taking a hot shower for too long

It is understandable when people prefer taking a hot shower. It feels soothing and relaxing. It also offers health benefits. However, you cannot take a hot shower for too long; otherwise, you will be stripping your skin of its natural oils, instead of trapping water to keep the skin moist.

Not including your scalp when using a conditioner

Although the conditioner helps keep your hair shiny and silky, it is not only for your hair. You also need it to keep your scalp healthy. Therefore, you need to apply the conditioner from the roots to the tips. However, you also need to be cautious since some conditioners could cause flaking and itchiness. You need to stop using it if you feel terrible.

Being too aggressive in using the loofah

There is nothing wrong in using the loofah when bathing as it helps remove dust and dirt. However, you need to be cautious since you might be too aggressive, which might result in dry and red skin. You are also removing the natural barrier of your skin in the process. You can use the loofah gently and select the right washcloth that will not hurt your skin.

You bathe to keep your body clean and healthy. However, you could also hurt yourself in the process. From the chemicals you use to the way you use them, you need to be cautious.

Take your time in selecting your soap, shampoo and other body treatment products. Stick with organic ingredients if possible so that you do not need to worry about the chemicals. When you notice skin irritation or hair problems after you bathe, you need to find out what caused them.

To help you feel better when you bathe, you can purchase a shower pod. It enables you to feel secure when bathing. You can also store your body and hair care products inside.

Things To Consider When You Choose Your College

April 6, 2019 by Tristan Leave a Comment

Choosing a college is a really important moment in life. You need to think about many things and it is a certainty that you will feel at least a little bit overwhelmed by the various choices that are available. As you select school, you read articles like American Musical and Dramatic Academy reviews. This can help you out a lot but there are many other things that can be taken into account.

While so many facts can be taken into account, the following are some that will almost always help offer some sort of clarity.

Admission Rates

Based on SAT scores and your performance during high school, it is possible to apply to some colleges that have lower or higher admission rates. When acing everything during academic life, there is a really good possibility that you will be accepted at most colleges. In the event that academic history is not that perfect, you need to go for the colleges that have higher admission rates since this acts as a safety net.

Graduation Rate

It is always much more important to graduate than to get admitted. Do not choose those colleges where few people graduate since you might be wasting your time. If the college is not successful at keeping students in the classroom, will they help you?

Freshmen Retention Rate

This is a rate that few people consider but it is something that you can easily take into account. It practically means how many freshmen get back after sophomore year. When this retention rate is high, student satisfaction is high during the first year of college.

School Size

While it is always a good idea to first consider the student to faculty ratio of the considered college, one thing that few take into account is actual school size. You want to be comfortable as you go to school. The larger school can easily be overwhelming while the small school can be underwhelming. Is it important for you to have privacy or are you more interested in knowing everyone?

Jobs When School Is Over

In the event that it is really important for you to find a good job after you are done with school, think about how many students that graduate get a job in the first year after their graduation. There are many colleges that have wonderful job placement programs but this is not always the case.

School Curriculum

It is a surprise to see how many aspiring college students do not actually think about curriculum when they make their final choice. There are always different programs with different schools and different curriculums. In some cases curriculum is open while in others it is really restrictive. Think about flexibility, what you want to learn and what you do not want to learn. School curriculum helps make your final choice one that you will love.

Do be sure that you take as much time as possible to learn all you can about the colleges you consider. Everything mentioned above helps you make a good choice. If you have any questions or comments about this article, please feel free to contact us at the Street Talk Live blog, or make a comment on this article!

Dr. Ian Weisberg Tells You How To Find A Good Cardiologist For Your Situation

April 6, 2019 by Tristan Leave a Comment

Simply put, the cardiologist is a medical specialist that knows everything about your heart and does work on it. The knowledge that exists is highly comprehensive since the doctor is practically specialized in the human heart. Whenever experiencing heart problems, this is the specialist that you want to go to. In the event a medical emergency happens, you will surely be treated by one. Obviously, it is your choice if you just work with the first cardiologist that is referred or you choose another one, based on personal research.

Dr. Ian Weisberg knows a lot about cardiologists and fully understands the need to get the best possible treatment at all times. This is why he always recommends that you research as much as you can about the options that are available for you. The most important factors to consider as you choose your cardiologist are the following.

Education

With heart problems things are not as with other specialists you will work with during your life. It is not as if you find a businessman that can easily learn everything alone. The education of the considered cardiologist is vital to assess skill. You need to only consider the doctors that are certified and that studied at well-known schools.

Experience

In medicine, the more you are active, the more you know. This is because of the fact that you keep learning as you practice medicine. Before you consider any cardiologist, no matter the procedure or purpose, check past jobs and where the considered specialist worked. It is always a really good idea that you call some of the places that are listed on the experiences list of any heart doctor. You can find such information online. Contacting the employers will help you to be sure that what is listed is accurate. You can also learn some extra things that are not available online through a phone call, like how patients were treated and if the cardiologist was respected by peers.

Reputation

The cardiologist’s reputation should also be taken into account. You need to find someone that you can completely trust. If there are many people that recommend him/her, there is a pretty good possibility that you found someone that can be trusted. Reputation can be assessed through the internet and should never be dismissed if you want to find a really good cardiologist.

Making The Final Choice

After you analyze the factors that were highlighted above, there is a pretty good possibility that you have the information you need in order to make a decision you are fully comfortable with. Obviously, there will also be some personal preferences that you will need to think about as they are important for you. Price stands out as the most common of these preferences.

Whenever faced with heart problems, it is normal to be afraid. This is why you want to be sure that you work with a cardiologist that you can actually trust. Your final decision can only be made after you learn about as many medical specialists as possible.

What to Do If You Have a Dispute with Your Landlord

March 27, 2019 by Tristan Leave a Comment

A landlord is defined as an individual or a business who own real estate and rents the property for money to another party (known as a tenant). The responsibilities of a landlord typically include performing any necessary repairs and maintenance during the rental period, ensuring all utility services (electricity, heat, water, etc.) are working, staying up to date with building codes, and maintaining common areas of the rental property. He or she has the right to collect rent and any arranged upon fees in advance, and the right to raise the rent (in accordance with the rental agreement).

The responsibilities of a tenant, on the other hand, include paying rent, following building codes and housing rules, as well as keeping the property in good condition. If a tenant does not pay rent, the landlord has the right to evict them, although the eviction process depends on the state in question.

Once you sign a lease, you are bound by law to fulfil all of its terms and conditions, such as paying rent throughout the entire rental period.

Handling disputes

As a tenant, it is imperative that you understand your rights and responsibilities for the purpose of avoiding or resolving any rental disputes. If such a dispute does arise, the first step is to read the lease and disclosure statement and to speak with your landlord to see if you can agree on a solution. Then, follow up with a letter confirming the conversation. If, however, you do not hear from your landlord following the written notice, contact him or her again.

In any case, do not violate your lease by moving out without giving proper notice or stopping payment of rent, despite what your landlord does or does not do. Moreover, keep a record of your lease, letters, and all conversations between you and your landlord. This way, if any questions or concerns should arise, the documentation will serve as evidence.

Of course, some rental disputes cannot be resolved with conversation and in such instances, a mediator can be hired. A mediator is an independent, third-party who uses specialised communication and negotiation techniques to form an agreement favouring both parties.

Nevertheless, in times when both open communication and mediation fail, legal action may be required.

Do you need a litigation lawyer?

Disputes over a commercial or retail lease can disrupt your business, harm its reputation, and drain you of a lot of time and money. Depending on the nature of the dispute, hiring a litigation lawyer may be in your best interest.

Experienced legal experts oversee all aspects of commercial and retail leasing, assisting business owners in the preparation, negotiation, and entrance of lease agreements. We also offer litigation services, helping both parties to resolve their issues and reach a favourable outcome.

A Litigation team works closely with clients to provide them with information, advice, and other services when disputes between tenant and landlord are forming. If ligation is required, they will guide you through the court process, all the while ensuring the utmost respect for your privacy and confidentiality rights.

With a Litigation Lawyer on your side, you can rest assured that you are in good hands and that they will negotiate the best possible case outcome for your dispute.

How To Find A Comfortable Hybrid Bike For Women

March 2, 2019 by Tristan Leave a Comment

Cycling provides an excellent cardio workout for both serious cyclists and recreational bikers. It combines physical exercise with being outdoors and exploring new views. You can ride solo – giving you time to indulge in some soul-searching or process worries, or you can ride with a group of like-minded friends which broadens your social circle.

When it comes to choosing a bike however, women face a number of special challenges compared to men. Most bikes are built to fit a man’s body and women may have trouble finding a comfortable bike due to their longer torsos, shorter arms and legs, or smaller size and weight. As you compare bikes, try different models to find one that fits, or look for the best bicycle for women designed just for women.

Commuting to work, riding to buy groceries and cycling in the morning to get your dose of exercise should all be comfortable experiences. It doesn’t matter if you’re riding for 5 minutes or 5 hours. Comfort matters most, which is why SixThreeZero developed a range of top rated comfort bikes to ride no matter where and how you ride. Comfort bicycles are convenient, easy to ride and give you ultimate pleasure.

Comfort bikes come with wider tires and bigger threads. The high air volume in these tires provides a smooth, comfortable ride that weakens the effect of small rocks and potholes. These bikes are also typically equipped with a suspension system in the front fork and on the saddle or seat post to absorb and reduce shock.

To decide what type of bicycle is suitable for you, your first consideration is to know where you’ll be riding: on pavement, dirt trails or both. Some bicycles are made specifically for a particular kind of riding surface, while others are versatile enough that perhaps with a quick tire change, they can be ridden in more than one category.

No other bike shops go the extra mile to let you try their bikes for a full 365 days to see how comfortable their cruisers and hybrid bikes truly are than SixThreeZero. Take one of their women’s comfort bikes and give it a test ride. Try out one of their best hybrid bicycles for sale too. If you were expecting something else, just let SixThreeZero know. Shop stress-free, knowing that they will take the bike back within the return period with free shipping! Now that’s extra bonus!

How Mahesh Navani Went Vegan

February 28, 2019 by Tristan Leave a Comment

I was raised as a vegetarian and when I reached the age of 16 I decided to become a fully fledged vegan, a lifestyle which I enjoy very much. During college my buddy Mahesh Navani wanted to become a vegan too and so I helped him out during his transition phase. I can’t imagine how difficult it must be for someone to go vegan from being raised as a meat eater and so I have to say that I really respect Mahesh Navani for being so bold and making such a change in his life. I know that there are many people out there who struggle with this transition and so I wanted to talk a little about how Mahesh was able to make this change.

A rainbow of colours and textures in this vibrant and healthy snack board of fruit, vegetables, dips, nuts and olives. Citrus fruits, grapes, tropical fruits and berries add colour to the spread. Hazelnuts, almonds, walnuts, kalamata olives and home made dips of hummus, beetroot and pumpkin are surrounded by salad sliced for a fun, healthy way to snack. Raw healthy food, ready for a party.

Fault Start

Mahesh isn’t the type of person to do things by halves and he is an all or nothing kind of guy. And so when it came to turning began this is what he did, he literally went from eating meat to avoiding all animal products in a single day. Admittedly even in the weeks running up to this, he wasn’t hardly eating any meat at all. After just a week of avoiding animal products Mahesh Navani got pretty sick and he felt like he wasn’t functioning well through the day. I told him to go back to his old diet and try again in a few weeks. This is something which a lot of vegans do because they haven’t prepared well enough for the change.

Second Coming

Mahesh went back to his diet for around 3 weeks before trying again and most importantly he wrote down what he was eating during his vegan week, to try and identify what he was missing out on. As it turned out he wasn’t eating enough protein and he wasn’t finding sources of B12 to support his new diet. B12 is a vitamin which we get from meat and it comes from the grass that the animals have eaten prior to being slaughtered. The B12 issue is easy to overcome as you can buy a supplement which gives you all that you need, in just a single tablet per day.

Protein

The reason as to why Mahesh was feeling so lousy during that week was because he wasn’t getting enough protein into his body, something which he previously relied on meat and eggs for. There are loads of sources of protein out there in the plant-based world, you just need to make sure that you are preparing well for it. Tofu, tempeh, lentils, chick peas and beans are all excellent sources of protein and once Mahesh began to eat these types of foods, he found the diet to be much better and he felt better each day.

The biggest takeaway from this is that when you try to go vegan the best course of action is a slow transition, start off with going vegetarian and begin to incorporate plant-based protein sources into your diet. In doing this you will find it far easier when you eventually go vegan.

5 Simple Interior Design Hacks That Can Boost Your Health

February 9, 2019 by Tristan Leave a Comment

Exercise, good hygiene, and healthy eating are proven ways to enjoy good health. But following such a path requires work, commitment, and sacrifice. What if there was a way to improve your health without having to work at it? That’s exactly what you will find here – 5 simple hacks to make your home contribute positively to your mental and physical health!

Let’s get started

1.       Choose Colours Carefully

After a hard day’s work, you should return to a home that makes you feel at peace. This is an important part of managing your work-life balance and can be achieved with something as simple as using the right paint colour in your home.

Different colours have different effects on behaviour. For a home that reduces your anxiety and eases stress, aim for a colour palette that promotes a feeling of relaxation and serenity. Bright and warm colours such as bright yellow, orange, or red are not good for this.

Muted and neutral shades such as blue, green, grey, and whites evoke a sense of calm. The release of stress hormones is harmful to your health, so it’s best to avoid anything that can lead to such in your home.

You can use bright colours as accents and mix your muted paint shades with softer shades of bright colours. If you cant find something you like for the wall have apexmetalsigns.com make you a custom piece with the colors you want.

2.       Less harsh lighting

Natural light and artificial light affect the sleep cycle of individuals. For the sake of your health, use muted energy saving lights indoors, especially in the bedroom. Also, avoid using bright lights before you sleep. Dimmer switches give you more control over the level of lighting in your home.

Depending on natural light when it is available will help your circadian rhythms, boost your overall sense of wellbeing, and minimise the symptoms of depression.

3.       Nontoxic furniture

The foam used in furniture is most times treated with toxic substances which can prove injurious to your health. To protect yourself, switch out your furniture, especially your mattress for furniture that uses more natural materials. Talalay latex mattresses and memory foam are highly recommended.

4.       Potted plants

Potted plants, especially leafy ones, add vibrancy to your interior and improve your quality of life. This is because green plants extract carbon dioxide and other elements from the air and replace them with clean oxygen. This is great for your body and mind.

5.       Minimise clutter

A cluttered apartment reflects your mind, and a cluttered mind is a stressed mind. So, de-clutter. Asides the psychological aspect, a cluttered apartment provides hiding places for pests that carry disease. It’s also impossible to keep a cluttered home clean.

Apply these hacks and you can look forward to a stress-free home that contributes to your mental and physical wellbeing.

Despite Our Multiplayer Gaming Trends, Single-Player Games are Coming Back

February 1, 2019 by Tristan Leave a Comment

Coming into 2018, there was a theory being spouted by big names in the gaming industry, such as Electronic Arts, that the single-player format was on its way out, with gaming transitioning to entirely multiplayer formats with future titles coming in the form of gaming as a service. The rise of the multiplayer titles based on the Battle Royale book helped their case.

But, as though they hadn’t seen the release schedule, 2018 fought back with an avalanche of almighty single-player titles, many of which came without a fleck of multiplayer but still sold incredibly well and earned bucket loads of critical acclaim. The likes of Monster Hunter World, God of War, Spider-Man, Red Dead Redemption on release, Forza Horizon 4, Octopath Traveler, Pokemon Let’s Go, and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate are all very deep in, and focused on, single-player aspects and did incredibly well.

Last year was the year that the gaming industry proved that single-player games, story, and the art of making a top-class video game is still very popular in the current market, regardless of what trends and predictions may try to dictate. This year, the release schedule is filled with great games set to further cement this stance among gamers, with the following titles being among the very best.

Metro Exodus

Based on the novels by Dmitry Glukhovsky, the Metro series continues to go from strength to strength with the third part of the series, Metro Exodus, set to be the biggest and best of them all. The Metro games have always placed a strong emphasis on story and atmosphere, taking the form of linear shooters up until now. In Metro Exodus, players will give players more room to operate within the storyline, giving them open worlds to explore and complete tasks within in each mission.

Despite moving appearing to have moved away from its classic form of a claustrophobic horror-shooter type of game, the THQ Nordic release is still packed with all of the immersive elements that made it such a unique game in the somewhat overused post-apocalyptic genre, but giving the player more choice and customisable options along the way.

If you can’t wait for Metro Exodus’ 15th of February or fancy the single-player classics that came before it, it’s well worth getting the remastered version of the first two games in the double-feature Metro Redux.

Ghost of Tsushima

Following in the footsteps of God of War and Spider-Man, Ghost of Tsushima is another massive open-world, story-driven game that’s going to be exclusive to PlayStation. Rumour has it that this incredible-looking game will be out in 2019, but an official release date is yet to be announced.

In Ghost of Tsushima, you take on the role of the very last samurai on the island of Tsushima. The developers, Sucker Punch, claim that they’ve created gameplay mechanics that fully let you explore what it’s like to be a samurai, using swords, grappling hooks, and stealth to navigate your way through the challenges ahead.

It looks like a fantastic game that’s rich with impeccable graphics, fun gameplay, and a deep story which is all set within the very interesting theme of 13th Century Japan while playing as a samurai. Being among the most recognisable warriors in human history, it should come as no surprise that many games have been made with them at their centre. One of the most enjoyable and recent games of this genre is Playtech’s Pixel Samurai, which always makes for good use of a welcome bonus. But, given what we’ve seen so far, Ghost of Tsushima is set to be the very best samurai game yet.

Yoshi’s Crafted World

Nintendo always does well to release unique, exciting, and challenging games to their consoles. Now that the Nintendo Switch has proven to be so popular and so powerful, even more Nintendo-exclusive triple-A games are en route, with the hotly-anticipated Yoshi’s Crafted World set to be one of the very best.

The single-player puzzles game sees you take on the role of a Yoshi to collect items, solve puzzles, and push with the storyline of recovering the lost gemstones. The game’s unique pull comes from the specialised gameplay as a Yoshi, which includes gobbling up enemies and throwing eggs, as well as flipping the stage to progress and find hidden treasures. Best of all, like with many other top Switch games, it can be played as a couch co-op.

Set for release on the 29th of March this year, Yoshi’s Crafted World doesn’t really have an equivalent. But, if you want to get accustomed to the way of the Yoshi, you could always battle a huge roster of games stars with Yoshi as your hero in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate as he’s a rather fun and powerful character to use.

These are just a few of the highlights set to come out in 2019 or perhaps early 2020, with the likes of Death Stranding, Cyberpunk 2077, Crackdown 3, Gears of War 5, Luigi’s Mansion, and Biomutant also on the way to hold single-player games in very high standing.

How To Get a Head Start in Business

January 24, 2019 by Tristan Leave a Comment

Business can be very competitive and so getting a head start is often challenging. Preparation and relevant qualifications are vital to help you to stand out from other candidates when applying for a job. They will also allow you to have a greater chance of success if you are setting up your own business.

Take steps to help you succeed in business

If you need any more reasons to get the best head start possible in business, consider the stats around forming your own company. The US Bureau of Labor reported that 7 out of 10 businesses fail within 10 years – this is a stat that you need to work hard to not be part of. Even as an employee, the number of people you will be up against when going for jobs demands that you do all you can to stand out from the crowd.

Here are some suggestions as to how to get that head start you need in business.

  • Use your network – one way to get a good head start in business is to use your professional network to help. It may be family friends, people who you have stayed in touch with after college or people you have connected with on LinkedIn. How you have built up your network does not really matter – what is important is using it to help find that dream role or to market your own business. Very often, you will find that you get many opportunities through your professional network which is why it is so important.
  • Develop your personal skills – another way to get a head start in business is to be continually developing your personal skills. Communication skills is a great example as this is valued by employers and can help you to forge a successful career. Other common soft skills that can help you be attractive to employers or run your own business are leadership and integrity. Try to develop these sorts of traits within yourself to make you a cut above other business people. Using windows maximizer can help with your technical skills.
  • Get some work experience – if you are just entering the world of business then it can be tricky to get the edge you need. One way to go about it is by gaining some work experience in the sector you plan to work in. This will be appealing to employers as it will show you know what is involved and can actually do the job well. The other advantage is that a successful work experience period may lead to the offer of a job. As an entrepreneur running your own business, work experience will allow you to understand what is needed to run a successful company in your chosen industry.
  • Go global – to get a head start in the modern business world, you need to think globally. Business is now a truly international affair as e-commerce and social media become more important with each year that passes. Take the time to understand global business and research how you can develop your skills. This will be a valuable asset that many others who are moving into the business world may not have.
  • Qualifications – of course, the main way to get a leg up in business is to have the right qualifications. Having them will open a lot of doors career wise that otherwise may have been closed. Many professions will require specific qualifications before candidates would be considered for interview.

Bryant & Stratton College – education for life

If you are thinking of where in the US you can gain those all-important qualifications, then Bryant & Stratton College is a great choice. With campuses in New York, Ohio, Virginia and Wisconsin, they offer a great flexibility in where to study. Even better, they offer online courses if you prefer to not attend college in person. Getting the right college is key to getting the correct education – make sure to find the one that you like best and that provides the qualifications you need.

As the above shows, there are some basic ways to get the head start you require to succeed in business. From going to college to gain those vital qualifications to developing your own personal skills, a little hard work will go a long way. By the time you have finished, you will be a much more attractive candidate for employers or a much more switched on entrepreneur to create and run your own business.
